The Beginning
At Ultratec, our story begins back in 1996, when we were founded with a simple but powerful vision: to deliver trusted expertise in hard drive testing, repair, and secure data erasure. Over the years, we built a reputation as a specialist partner to the ITAD, enterprise, and refurbishing industries, providing quality refurbishment services for hard drives and other storage media on a truly global scale.
2019
Innovation Through Ultratest Solutions
Recognising the growing demand for in-house solutions, in 2019 we launched Ultratest Solutions — the engineering and development arm behind our own industry-leading hardware platforms: Genesis and Nemesis. These purpose-built solutions allow our customers to take control of their drive and network device processing — combining advanced defect repair, secure erasure, compliance-ready reporting and process automation under one powerful system.

Joining Restore Technology
In 2022, Ultratec and Ultratest became part of the Restore Technology group, the UK’s leading provider of secure IT asset disposition and data destruction services. This gave us the scale, support, and sustainability focus to drive our mission forward — enabling more organisations to reduce waste, improve yields, and protect sensitive data, all while maximising the value of end-of-life IT assets.
